SST YOUTH GROUP
Young Shooters Aiming for True Sportsmanship Through Competition

MISSION STATEMENT - To provide a youth program promoting the shooting sports and related activities with emphasis on safety, personal responsibility, sportsmanship, exercising good judgment, marksmanship and camaraderie.

CLUB GOALS & DEVELOPMENT - The SST Youth program emphasizes safety, responsibility, and fun, with a focus on personal development and sportsmanship. By requiring participants to complete a Hunter Safety Program before the season, the program ensures that youth learn the proper and safe use of firearms. Although competition is a part of the program, it’s not the main focus. Instead, the values of honoring the game, playing by the rules, and exhibiting good sportsmanship are emphasized. Coaches, parents, and athletes are all responsible for setting good examples and upholding high standards of conduct. Safety and fun are core elements of all activities, and participants not only learn how to handle firearms responsibly but also the joy of working towards a shared team goal. Over time, they gain skills and proficiency in a lifelong sport that can be enjoyed with family and friends.

Youth from the elementary grades through high school are eligible to participate in the safe, educational and enjoyable SST clay target sports of Trap, Skeet, Sporting Clays, ISSF Trap, and ISSF Skeet. It is ideally suited to be a school sponsored Title IX sport. There is no other sport that offers such an absolutely "level playing field" for gender integration as does the shooting sports. The SST Youth program is a perfect fit for youth organizations such as Boy Scouts, 4-H, F.F.A., P.A.L., Girl Scouts, Boys and Girls Clubs, et al. Any youth organization is welcome to participate in the SST Youth program.

All SST Ravens are REQUIRED to complete a Hunter's Safety Program prior to the start of the season.
